I've been away form the internet for a while, trying to process David Bowie's Death. As a child of the 70's he was this strange, alien, thin white duke. In the 80's Labyrinth was the movie of choice after school. David on MTV was one of my first memories of music videos and how wonderfully strange they could be. In the 1990s he was the background to my High School days. In college even though he had disappeared for a little while, he was back in '99 with a smashing album. After his heart attack in 2004 he was gone again, releasing albums sporadically, from some mysterious place. When BlackStar arrived I was thrilled. And only a short time later he was gone. I have been listening to David's music and looking through his many, many images and ch ch ch changes through the years. I am grateful this strange and beautiful man chose Earth to fall to. He left us with music and art that will never die. I will miss you Mr. Bowie, but be eternally grateful for you being you and reminding us all we can be heroes.
